Injectables and Fillers

Most Common FAQs
How long does it take to recover from a Botox or Dysport injection?
Injections with Botox or Dysport have essentially no downtime. Your skin may be red from the injection for about 15-30 minutes. There is an unlikely chance of a tiny bruise. The injection starts to take effect after 3-5 days and will take 10-14 days to reach full effect. The effects can last for ~4 months depending on the amount injected. Overall, it is a very well tolerated procedure.
What is the downtime with these treatments?
Depending on the treatment, there could be minimal to no downtime with an immediate result.
Do I have to set up a separate appointment after the consultation for a treatment?
Depending on the treatment, it can be delivered at the time of your initial consultation. Specials and treatment packages may be available and can be discussed at the time of your consultation.
How long does until Botox® has its full effect?
Botox® and other neuromodulators typically take several days for the full effect to be produced. Immediately following injection, there may be a small amount of redness but this typically quickly dissipates. The effect generally lasts for 3-4 months.
How do I know which treatment is right for me?
It starts with what bothers you: lines of expression, lost volume, skin tone and texture, or fullness under the chin each point to different options. During your consultation, Dr. Sand will explain the choices, expected results, and downtime, and many treatments can be combined for a greater overall effect.
