The Treatment

Patients and providers wear light protective goggles during this treatment. Ultrasound gel is placed over the treatment area. A crystal hand piece will then glide over the entirety of the treatment area while a bright light flashes from the crystal. This procedure is mostly comfortable and most pulses should feel like a light elastic sensation. 

Post-Treatment Expectations

Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of the pigmented spots with the areas clearing up in the week afterward. This process leads to an evening of the skin tone and complexion. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days. 

How Many Treatments Are Recommended?

An improved skin appearance can be noted after the first session, but multiple sessions provide ideal results. Treatment regimens depend on the severity of the skin damage, skin type, treatment type and the energy settings. 

Downtime and Side Effects

Most patients do not experience any side effects and any skin reaction usually resolves within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and tanning. Otherwise this is a fantastic no downtime procedure to leave your skin brighter and beautiful.
