BioRepeel with Holly

BioRepeel, there’s two versions: there’s a Blue and a Gold version. The Blue is for the face and the Gold is for the body. It’s a 30 to 50 percent TCA peel. It’s a chemical peel that has no social downtime. It’s pretty amazing. And you can do it year round in the summertime.

BioRepeel works by removing dead skin cells and removing the outermost layer of the skin.

It stimulates fibroblasts, which are responsible for collagen and elastin production.

What is social downtime?

Social downtime means that you are gonna be able to go out the next day. You’re gonna be able to go out that night and not look crazy or be look like you’re a burn victim. You’re gonna be able to still carry on with your activities that you do day to day.

Who is an ideal candidate for BioRepeel?

All skin types are ideal for BioRepeel, especially if you’re dull or lacking that extra glow that you’re wanting to achieve.

What are the primary benefits of BioRepeel treatments?

Some benefits of BioRepeel: it’s going to be great for patients who have acne, they’re trying to remove fine lines and wrinkles, they want to help minimize pore size, hyperpigmentation and scarring.

How is the BioRepeel treatment performed?

The way that it’s performed is, I would, ideally, I need my patients to stop using retinol 7-10 days. I’d prefer 2 weeks. Stop all actives, retinol, AHAs, BHAs. That way your skin barrier isn’t compromised.

So first we cleanse, and then we pre treat with a salicylic acid peel, which is going to remove dead skin cells. I apply BioRepeel. It sits on the skin for 5-7 minutes, depending on the skin type and what they’re trying to achieve. Then we cleanse. And then I put on our post treatment care products.

It’s pretty quick and simple.

Are there any risks or side-effects?

This chemical peel is pretty safe. I would say if there’s any risks involved, you might have a little bit of redness, a little bit of itchiness, some mild irritation, but that’s going to be temporary.

It’s pretty safe.

What can patients expect during the recovery?

So most patients will see that their skin is glowing right after. Some patients may find that they have a little bit of redness.

You can have a little bit of flakiness. I wouldn’t expect any peeling. This chemical peel is supposed to be no pain, no peel, which is awesome. But some patients will find that they have a little bit of irritation, redness, and flakiness, but it’s just temporary and it only lasts for a few days.

How many treatments are typically needed?

With foreseen results, you’ll see results dramatically within the first or second treatment. You’ll notice an overall glow, overall better texture within just one treatment, but we do recommend four to six treatments, especially if we’re trying to treat hyperpigmentation, scarring, or acne. We recommend four to six treatments. For BioRepeel Blue, which is for the face, we recommend 7 to 10 days between treatments. If we’re doing Gold, which is the body, we recommend 10 to 12 days.

How can someone learn more or schedule a consultation?

So if someone wants to learn more, they can DM me personally on my Instagram. It’s holly.gem.beauty. I get back to all my patients pretty quickly. And then they could also call Sand Plastic Surgery and set up a consultation with me to see if they’re a good candidate for this procedure and answer any questions that they may have.
