Jordan P. Sand, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the Director of Sand Plastic Surgery of Spokane. He is both fellowship-trained in facial plastic surgery and an executive board member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is the recipient of the Jack R. Anderson Prize for Scholastic Excellence from the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This prize is awarded annually to the U.S. or Canadian surgeon who achieves the highest combined score on the written and oral portions of the ABFPRS examination administered in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Dr. Sand is faculty in both the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University. He is double board-certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and also the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. He is a fellow member of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons. Dr. Sand has also been recognized in multiple years as one of the best cosmetic surgeons in the Spokane region by Spokane + Coeur d’Alene Living magazine. Dr. Sand specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the scalp, nose, face and neck. His practice focuses on minimally and non-invasive procedures (FaceTite/BodyTite, Botox®, liquid facelift, laser skin resurfacing, microneedling, IPL), facial rejuvenation (facelift, necklift, cheeklift), primary and revision nasal surgery (cosmetic and reconstructive rhinoplasty), hair restoration, eyelid surgery (browlift, upper and lower blepharoplasty), and reconstruction of post-traumatic or post-oncologic injuries of the head and neck. Dr. Sand’s primary philosophy is to help patients meet their aesthetic goals so they can look and feel their best.
Dr. Sand was born and raised in the Inland Northwest. He was valedictorian of his high school class and was granted multiple awards while attending Whitworth University including the Valedictorian Scholarship Award, Jef Olson Leadership Award, and the Johnston-Hanson Excellence in Science Scholarship. Dr. Sand graduated summa cum laude from Whitworth University and was presented with the Outstanding Senior Chemistry Major Award and the Whitworth University Alumni Ideals Award. He then attended the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle with a $300,000 scholarship from the highly prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. While in medical school, Dr. Sand served on multiple leadership committees on a local and national level and was awarded a fellowship with the Sarnoff Research Foundation, completed at Harvard Medical School. He additionally was selected to serve on advisory boards with the Sarnoff Research Foundation and the National Board of Medical Examiners. After graduating with honors from University of Washington School of Medicine, Dr. Sand completed his Head and Neck Surgery training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. During his tenure there, he worked extensively in the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, contributing to numerous manuscripts, book chapters, and national presentations. Within the department, he was awarded the administrative chief resident position, a leadership honor given to only one surgeon per year. Following graduation, Dr. Sand was invited to join the faculty at University of California, Los Angeles where he served as a Clinical Instructor and Fellow in the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Sand worked closely with world-renowned surgeons in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Santa Barbara acquiring advanced techniques in minimally and non-invasive procedures, nasal surgery, facial rejuvenation, hair restoration, eyelid surgery, and facial reconstruction.
Dr. Sand has also had the opportunity to participate in multiple humanitarian activities serving refugees, cancer survivors and the homeless community. Most recently, Dr. Sand joined in a cleft and craniofacial trip to Nicaragua where he helped perform dozens of reconstructive surgeries for patients with minimal healthcare access.
